People replace the router first. It rarely helps, because the problem is usually not the device — it is that one radio in one closet is being asked to cover a house it cannot physically reach across. And in Las Vegas there is a specific reason for that: traditional stucco is applied over expanded metal lath, which is a steel mesh, and steel mesh is close to the ideal material for blocking a Wi-Fi signal. Interior walls, a staircase, and a couple of thousand square feet finish the job.
So the fix is not a stronger transmitter. It is putting radios in the parts of the house that need them, and giving each one a real connection back to the network. That can be a wired access point system, which is the better version, or a properly placed mesh, which is the right version when running cable would mean opening walls for little gain. Both are real answers. Which one you should buy depends on your house, and we will tell you which rather than defaulting to the more expensive one.

Two Options, and What They Cost
There are two good ways to fix Wi-Fi in a home, and they suit different houses. Here is exactly what each costs in hardware, and how we decide which one is right for yours.
Option 1 — Wired UniFi Access Point System
The stronger setup, and the one we recommend whenever cable can reasonably reach the access points. Every access point has a full-speed wired path back to the router, so nothing is relaying, and the whole network is managed as one system with clean hand-off as you move through the house.

Option 2 — Whole-Home Mesh Wi-Fi
The right call when running cable would mean opening walls for little benefit, and for renters who need something that installs with no damage and moves with them. Wired or Wireless: How We Decide
If cable can reach it, wire it. A wired access point gets full speed back to the router. A wireless one spends part of its capacity relaying, and every hop costs you.
If running cable means opening walls for one room, do not. A premium tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh with a dedicated backhaul band is genuinely capable, and it is the honest answer in plenty of homes.
Renting? Mesh, every time. No penetrations, no landlord conversation, and it goes with you when you move.
Extenders are not the same thing. A typical repeater halves throughput at each hop and creates a second network name your devices cling to. We do not install them.
More hardware is not always the fix. Sometimes the problem is channel congestion or an overloaded router, not coverage. We would rather find that first than sell you three access points you did not need.

Why is my Wi-Fi bad in half the house?
Almost always a placement problem rather than a hardware problem. In Las Vegas there is a specific culprit on top of plain distance: traditional stucco goes over expanded metal lath — a steel mesh — and steel mesh is very good at stopping the 5 GHz and 6 GHz signals your fast devices use. Add a staircase and a few interior walls and the far end of the house gets very little. A radio placed where the coverage is missing fixes that; a bigger router in the same closet does not.
Should I get a wired access point system or a mesh?
If cable can reasonably reach the access points, wired wins — every access point gets a full-speed path back to the router instead of relaying, and the difference is noticeable on a busy evening. If running cable would mean opening walls for marginal benefit, or you are renting, a premium tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh is genuinely capable and the honest recommendation. What does a mesh system cost?

Why is the labor quoted per home instead of a flat rate?
Because the jobs genuinely differ. Placing three mesh nodes and configuring them is an afternoon. Running new Cat6 drops through an attic to feed wired access points on two levels is not. We do a walkthrough, see what your house actually needs, and quote it — the walkthrough and the quote are free.
Do Wi-Fi extenders work?
Not well, and we do not install them. A typical extender repeats on the same radio it receives on, which roughly halves throughput at every hop, and it usually creates a second network name that devices cling to long after they should have switched. Access points on a wired backbone, or a proper mesh with a dedicated backhaul band, avoid both problems.
Can you cover the backyard, a casita, or a detached garage?
Yes, and each of those normally wants its own access point — there are exterior walls between them and the house, which is more than Wi-Fi carries reliably. Depending on the layout we run cable out, or use a point-to-point wireless link to feed an access point at the far end.
Do you do offices as well as homes?
Most of our network work is residential, and that is what these pages are built around. We do handle small offices with the same equipment, sized up — device count, a separate guest network, and wired connections for the machines that need them.
Do I need to change internet providers?
No. All of this sits behind whatever service you already have. We are improving the network inside your home, not the connection coming into it.
