The whole community is oriented toward Red Rock, which means the good view and the good patio are usually on the west side of the house — and a west-facing patio in Las Vegas takes direct sun from about two in the afternoon until it goes down behind the escarpment. That is the single biggest thing that decides where an outdoor TV goes here, and it is why a mount that is right in The Trails is wrong two miles up the hill in Reverence.
We plan the position around the sun before we plan it around the wall. Sometimes that means tucking the screen deep under the patio cover instead of centering it on the fireplace. Sometimes it means an articulating arm so the TV can be angled away from the glare at the hour you actually sit outside. Patio columns and back walls in Summerlin are almost always stucco over CMU block, including in the newer Summerlin West villages. That is good news for an outdoor mount — block holds a sleeve anchor far better than any interior wall — as long as the hardware is rated for masonry and the anchor lands in the block, not in a mortar joint or the stucco skin. Under Alumawood and lattice covers we anchor to the structural post or the house wall, never the cover panels.

As far back under the cover as the seating allows, and usually off-center from the view rather than square to it. West-facing patios here take direct sun from mid-afternoon on, and even a bright outdoor-rated screen washes out in that light. We look at where you actually sit in the late afternoon, then set the position and a tilt or articulating arm so the screen is in shade at the hours you use it.
Usually yes. Those columns are typically stucco over block or over a structural post. We locate what is actually behind the finish before drilling and anchor into that structure with masonry hardware. If the column turns out to be a hollow decorative wrap, we say so and move to the house wall instead of hoping.
Yes. Add us to your visitor list ahead of time or give us the gate code, and the guard can call you directly for entry. Gate check-in time is built into the arrival window.
A TV built for outdoor use, in shade, with proper airflow behind it, generally does. An indoor TV hung on a patio wall generally does not — heat and dust are what kill them, and neither is covered by a manufacturer warranty once the set is mounted outside. We will tell you honestly which category your plan falls into before we install anything.

On many Summerlin West homes the builder already left an exterior outlet and a conduit stub near the patio, and we use it.
